25. Under normal conditions, how is a liferaft released from its cradle?

Liferafts are normally released by pushing the plunger on the hydrostatic release. This manual action trips the release mechanism, freeing the raft in controlled launch conditions. Other methods, such as cutting straps, lifting the raft, or unscrewing turnbuckles, are not approved procedures and can damage equipment or compromise the painter connection.
