103. Under normal circumstances, what do you do if the transmitter aboard your ship is operating off-frequency, overmodulating or distorting?
Immediately cease transmission when a transmitter exhibits off-frequency operation, overmodulation, or distortion to prevent interference and regulatory violations. Continuing to transmit with a faulty signal is unacceptable; correcting the issue and then resuming transmission is the proper procedure.
