220. You are onboard a 120 GT uninspected sea going tug which carries one Master and one Mate of Towing Vessels and four (4) seamen when underway. How many of the four seamen must have a rating as able seamen if the voyage is under 600 miles?
Regulations require at least 50% of the deck crew, excluding licensed officers, to be able seamen. Therefore, two of the four seamen must hold an able seaman rating.
