516. Under which conditions is the owner, agent, Master or person-in-charge of a small passenger vessel involved in a marine casualty NOT required to notify the Coast Guard?

The owner, agent, Master, or person-in-charge is not required to notify the Coast Guard when a death or injury to a shipyard or harbor worker is unrelated to the vessel casualty, an injury requires only first aid, or property damage is less than $25,000, as these situations do not meet the criteria outlined in 46 CFR Part 4.
