120. What precautions should be taken when viewing an incoming DSC Distress alert message?

Be careful not to activate a DSC acknowledgement or relay .
If the message is not clear make a DSC call to all ships requesting clarification.
No precautions are necessary -- the unit will auto-acknowledge an incoming DSC Distress alert.
If there are errors in the call the unit didn't auto-acknowledge via DSC and the watch officer must do so instead.
