211. BOTH INTERNATIONAL & INLAND In a crossing situation, which vessel may sound a signal to indicate failure to understand the intentions or actions of another vessel consisting of at least five short and rapid blasts of the whistle?
Either vessel may sound the danger signal of five short, rapid blasts when in doubt of another vessel's intentions or actions, as stipulated in Navigation Rules Rule 34(d), which is not restricted to stand-on or give-way vessels.
